Folded in as the door reveals

Buying a house is arriving at it. The site is one walk in order: the gate, the lane, the court, the living room, the roof. Each scroll step passes through a doorway, and the next room is already visible inside the frame of the last one.

Indian houses are about thresholds: the gate, the otla, the verandah, the court. Each one is a step from public to private.
It gives the site a strong order. You always know where you are in the house.
Night is underused in real estate. Lamplight through a half-open gate is warmer than any daytime render.

Each frame opens on the next room through its doorway, and you move forward into it. Gate, court, living room.

Boska is a high-contrast serif with tall, narrow proportions, like a door. Author is a calm sans with a little warmth for the text.

What we took from other sites

Where it could go wrong

Zoom-through-the-door is a known trick. Used more than three or four times it becomes a gimmick.
Long pinned sequences take control away from the reader. Some people just want the prices.

Not the lead. The doorway idea survives in the photographs: every picture in the "day" sequence opens from the centre like a pair of teak pivot doors.
